My problems with Concord all started with the "revitalization" of the brand a few years ago when the Concord C1 watch line was released. I wrote this article discussing how (and why) I didn't care for the design of the C1. The brand keeps coming out with new watches all based on the C1, some more hideous that others. Then came out the vertically aligned tourbillon watch, and most recently, the tourbillon version of the Concord C1 will be supplemented with this new movement, the C1 QuantumGravity - and I am thoroughly annoyed by it.

The Casio G-Shock line has remained a loved favorite of mine for a long time. My very first watches beginning in grade school were all digital Casio watches. I then graduated to the hip at the time Casio calculator watches, only to proudly wear a G-Shock in my early teen years. How far I have come. The G-Shock watches are aplenty all over the world, and are the world's best beater watches. I wrote this article a while ago discussing how Casio G-Shocks are the "real GI watch." The bottom line is that Casio created a truly global phenomenon with the Casio G-Shock line, with millions upon millions of the well priced functional watches all over the planet.

Veni Vidi Vici Spirit Of The Dragon Collection: Watches Perfect For Aquaman

Veni Vidi Vici Spirit Of The Dragon Collection: Watches Perfect For Aquaman

Who is this guy? Is he Gray? Is he one of the "sons?" Banish the thought the someone actually hired this monotone-voiced mood killer. I am sure he is a nice guy, who knows a lot about watches, and loves Breguet watches with all his heart, but honestly, is this the best you can do? Give it some life man! Could you sound any less enthusiastic about this watch? The company is over 200 year old, and the father of modern watch making. The watch is a beautiful solid gold alloy timepiece with a design rooted in an almost a century of perfection. And here you are sounding like a mid 1980's chemistry class educational video on noble gases.

While there are three new models, they each share a lot of the same design cues. The cases are very compact looking, especially with the Ultraflat, and are in rose gold. Case width is also comparable at 41mm. There is lug designs which are worth noting as well. The look is very 1960s. I would say the look is Germanic, but mostly because it is mostly certain German watches such as Glashutte that have some new watches with this style. Swiss, German, and American watches had similar flamboyant lugs of this still 50 years ago. Come to think of it, this is around the time when superfluous fins found a place on the rear of many automobiles. I'd like to think that the same style philosophy was at play when creating such stylistic, but not particularly functional lug designs. Further, the watches come with brown alligator straps.

The Tiffany & Co. Mark T-57 is not without its flaws or drawbacks. My feelings are that the Mark T-57 gets a lot of good points, but seems to have missed a couple of things that watch lovers focus on, instead tending to the fashion conscious a bit more. Lets look at the bracelet first, which is very nice to look at. There is a bit of a loose fit where the bracelet attached to the lugs. Most people wouldn't even notice this, but a perfect bracelet fits perfectly between the lugs with the case. More importantly is the fit of the bracelet. There is no minor adjustment ability. You have the ability to remove links (with screwed pins), but no other type of adjustment options. For me, the watch is either a bit too loose, or a bit too tight. This will depend on your specific wrist of course. Many watches feature more marginal adjustments, which are one of the things that watch lovers look for. It would not have been too difficult for Tiffany & Co. to provide a "half link" that is smaller than a normal link for more precise fitting.

The cut-aways on the case might take some getting used to, but are a refined look, and I think will have lasting appeal. In terms of the automatic movement, Svend Andersen is going to give this limited edition watch line an excellent treatment. A unique engraved titanium rotor is placed on the movement, and the overall movement is decorate and modified. I am very excited to see one of these new SpidoLite watches in person. They are going to be officially debuted at Baselworld in April, with availability starting soon after. The edition is limited to 222, 44, and 44 pieces for the different versions of the SpidoLite line (titanium, DLC, yellow sapphire). Price will be around ,000 with availability directly from Linde Werdelin themselves.

The case is a simple rounded, sandwiched square. The dial is round, unpretentious and frames the applied hour markers and hands with pristine clarity. The crown is placed at the top of the case (as opposed to the side), and is a flattened. Still, It is probably easy to operate when pulled out. It might not be comfy for manual winding, but the watches have quartz movements (don't gasp), so no worries with winding. Two rivets on the case delete any notion of boredom from the design suggesting a sense of mechanical engineering to the basic looking device. The Solaris watch line is available in several different materials from 18k yellow or white gold, as well as white and black ceramic.

Vacheron Constantin Metiers d’Art Tribute To Explorers 2008 Watches: Not Particularly Good Tributes To Great Explorers Watch Releases While I really like the idea, I just don't think Vacheron Constantin succeeding in getting the point across with these watches. The Metiers d’Art Tribute To Great Explorers 2008 collection is meant to honor Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus with well crafted watches that have old-style maps on them. Solid gold cases frame sophisticated enamel art with gold accents throughout. The enamel style is called "grand feu" and is apparently very tricky to get done right. I have no doubt that the methods used to creates this artistic watches are world-class, and that the fit and finish is top-notch. But that is not what a nice watch is all about in the end.

The strong hands are laser cut so they look really sharp and precise. The best part is that they are long enough in the case, and allow for a very high level of legibility. This is really a problem with many watches, but not for Linde Werdelin who has thankfully addressed this issue in their watches. The watch dial is specifically designed to be read in many conditions such as low visibility or low light. Double-sided anti-reflective coating is applied to the sapphire crystal. This is basically a requirement for any highly legible watch as it more or less eliminates glare. I can easily say that this is among the most comfortable watches to read that I've worn. The seconds hand is tipped in a darker color which interestingly enough keeps it from being distracting and helps to emphasize the hour hand. Colors are applied in lacquer, which is unique, and works to Linde Werdelin's benefit. Really well done, and I like the attention to detail. On the watch you'll find a uni-directional rotating bezel. It is another precision cut piece of the case, and Linde Werdelin got it right. Clicking 60 times around the dial, it moves with assured confidence and a refined sounding click with each notch. It is a perfect mix between being easy enough to turn without being easy to move out of position. In addition to the numbered indexes on the bezel, it also has lots of applied luminant for easy darker condition viewing.

Dievas Oceantimer 1330 Blue Is Nice Budget Diver Watch Sales & Auctions Dievas Oceantimer 1330 Blue Is Nice Budget Diver Watch Sales & Auctions The case of the Oceantimer is custom made for Dievas and is very nautically themed, but subtly so. It is a modern interpretation of diving instrumentation, and fits in well with the rest of your SCUBA gear. This particular watch is not a mechanical movement based watch, but for the price, the ETA 955.612 quartz caliber is just fine. The case it held together by six large hexagonal screws.

Audemars Piguet Millenary Chronograph Watch At SIHH 2009

Beneath the impressive sapphire crystal lies a panorama at its most extensive, giving shape to time, which becomes almost immaterial. While the dial strives to display the passing of time, it above all highlights empty space. The depth of its field of vision is dizzying and the feeling of levitation exhilarating. The officer-style hinged back excels in revealing the geometric circuit of the right-angled skeletonized bridges in a gigantic case measuring 47.5 mm in diameter and over 22 mm in depth. Its infinite precision holds many more temporal surprises…

From the a mechanical thermometer, to complex chronographs, and multi-timezone laden watches; Ball does have some interesting offerings. Even the lauded Engineer Master line has been getting visually more complicated. Now Ball has changed directions a bit and taken a bit more of a conservative approach. This is the first watch I have seen from them that takes an aviation approach to styling, though it retains a distinctive "ball" character.

Ernst Benz Releases The ChronoDiver Thinking It Is Being Innovative And Unique: It's Not Watch Releases

At least three versions of the LUM-TEC 1000m diver are going to be available: a standard three hand version, one with a 24 hour dial, and a chronograph. Each version will of course feature LUM-TEC's MVD (maximum darkness visibility) technology which is a special luminant application they use. The images here are concepts, and could possibly be further refined as a production ready model is announced. One important element of the watches has not been decided yet, and that is the movements to use. I predict we will see a couple of movement variations, but up for consideration are quartz movements to make the watch more affordable (LUM-TEC watches are always a good value) or really going all out and inserting ETA 2892-A2 automatic mechanical movements. Whatever movement LUM-TEC decides to use will dictate the price. Quartz based versions will likely be around 0, while high grade mechanical movement versions could reach around 00. Either way I know that LUM-TEC will deliver the solid values and quality that they are known for. LUM-TEC hopes for a release of the 1000m PVD diver watch late next year.

Yes watches are totally quirky, but very cool. The functionality outweighs any potential issue you might have with their looks. In fact, I can attest to the fact that you grow on the looks. When I first learned about Yes watches some years ago, I had no idea what to make of them, and had no idea how to read them. As I spent more time understanding what the watch was all about, I eventually came to appreciate, then really value them. Now, I own a Yes Inca and can say that it is among the most useful watches that I own.
